Supporting those impacted by Hurricane Fiona

Hurricane Fiona hit Atlantic Canada on Saturday, September 24, bringing powerful winds gusting in the 70 to 100 km/h range and over 100 millimeters of rain to areas across Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Quebec’s Magdalen Islands.

Many residents have been advised to stay home amid the deadly storm, and widespread outages have been reported across the provinces.

Our number one priority is the safety of our team members and Canadians, as well as maintaining the performance of our network to support affected communities.

To anyone who is in Atlantic Canada or has family there, please stay safe.

How we are supporting Atlantic Canada

  • Waiving all roaming charges for calls, text and data overages for customers currently in impacted Atlantic provinces
  • TELUS, TELUS Friendly Future Foundation® and TELUS team members donated $200,000 to the Salvation Army, Canadian Red Cross and charities in Atlantic Canada and Eastern Quebec to support relief efforts on the ground.
  • Launching TELUS Health’s Hurricane Fiona mental health crisis support hotline. Administered by LifeWorks, this free 24/7 service offers professional emotional support to individuals dealing with the impacts of Hurricane Fiona in Atlantic Canada. Anyone in Canada affected by this event can call 1-844-751-2133.
