Celebrating diversity and inclusion

At TELUS, we celebrate a culture of inclusion while recognizing every team member’s unique talents, voice and abilities. Since 2000, TELUS, our team members and retirees, and TELUS Friendly Future Foundation® have provided over $6 million in cash, in-kind contributions, time and programs and volunteered thousands of hours of service to LGBTQ2+ organizations globally.

Driving meaningful change

One of the ways we demonstrate our commitment to fostering a culture of inclusion is through our participation in Pride events across Canada and globally. Since 2007, we have supported Pride events through targeted local sponsorships and invite our team members, friends and family to come together and walk in Pride parades to celebrate diversity and inclusion together.

Team member resource groups

One of the ways we advance inclusion within our organization and our communities is through SPECTRUM, our team member resource group for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, two-spirited and allied (LGBTQ2+) team members.

“Early on, I chose to work at TELUS in part because I knew it is a company that respects and supports the LGBTQ2+ community – from Spectrum, our resource group for LGBTQ2+ team members, and our ongoing support for Pride events across Canada and internationally to raising awareness of important issues and events such as Transgender Day of Visibility.”

Our 2023 charitable partner

Since 2015, TELUS, our team members and retirees have contributed over $85,000 to Rainbow Railroad. In March 2022, TELUS Friendly Future Foundation donated an additional $150,000 to the organization to support their efforts to help LGBTQ2+ individuals negatively impacted by the ongoing war in Ukraine — totaling over $235,000 in contributions. Donations raised during the TELUS 2023 Pride season campaign will be donated to Rainbow Railroad’s Emergency Crisis Response Program, providing refuge to LGBTQ2+ individuals living under the threat of violence.
