Available at TELUS stores for a limited time.
Available for a limited time at TELUS Corporate stores, TELUS and WE have come together to create a special edition Rafiki bracelet with the goal to raise awareness and #EndBullying cyberbullying. For every $15 bracelet sold, TELUS will give $10 to help support the WE Schools program to enable and motivate Canada’s young change-makers to put an end to cyberbullying.
What are Rafikis?
Rafikis are colourful beaded bracelets handmade with love by mothers in Kenya. These artisans earn fair wages for their work, while leveraging their beading traditions and learning new techniques. By making the Rafikis, they are able to provide for their families and make contributions within their communities.
All Rafiki packages have a ‘Track Your Impact’ code on it. Track Your Impact is an online tool that allows the bracelet wearers to follow the impact of their purchase – they can see what their impact is, where it was delivered, and an example of how it has benefitted someone in the community.
Fun fact: In Swahili, the word for FRIEND is RAFIKI.
Our partnership with WE
TELUS and WE have a shared vision – together, we want to help engage and empower youth to harness their innovative ideas, make positive change and become community leaders, both locally and globally.
Our partnership goes back to 2007. Since then, we have given more than $18.8 million dollars to support WE’s efforts in Canada and around the world. Together, we are connecting with youth and providing the support and tools they need to act on their desire to change the world, one community at a time.
