TELUS Relay Service rates
Long distance calls that terminate in Canada, placed through TELUS Relay Service, are charged one half (50 per cent) of the toll rate per minute or fraction thereof. You must register with TELUS to receive the discount.
Long distance calls placed through TELUS Relay Service that terminate in the U.S. or overseas are not eligible for the 50 per cent savings. These calls are billed at your TELUS Long Distance savings plan rates or at basic long distance rates.
Long distance calls through TELUS Relay Service may be alternately billed to a calling card, collect or to a third number.
- Calling card calls
Your long distance call may be billed to your TELUS Calling Card when you're away from your own phone. Just provide your calling card number to the TRS Operator.
- Collect calls
Your long distance call may be billed to the number you are calling if the person answering the telephone authorizes the charge. Just request a collect call and give the TRS Operator your name and the number you are calling.
- Billing another number
You may bill your long distance call to a third number, either your own (if you are not calling from your own number at the time), or another number willing to pay for the call. Just request "bill to third number" and give the operator the number you would like to bill for the call, the number you are calling, and your name. The operator will call to see if someone at that number will pay for the call.
- Person-to-person
Many long distance plans have a minimum charge per call whether you speak to your party or not. To have the long distance charges begin only when the person you have asked to speak with is on the line, request a person-to-person call. Note: this type of long distance call is generally more expensive.
