1. Why is HDTV better?

   HDTV delivers brilliant, high-resolution images in a widescreen format. With 10 times the resolution of standard definition (SD) TV, you will see more details compared to analog television. You can also watch your favourite shows on a 16:9 aspect ratio (wide screen picture), and enjoy rich, resonant sound through Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound from every angle, creating a much more memorable, cinematic television experience.

2. What do I need to experience TELUS TV HD?

   HDTV requires three components: an HDTV, an HD digital box and HD programming. TELUS will provide you with an HD digital box and offers HD programming. All you need is an HDTV.

3. Is setting up HD complicated?

   On the same day as your TELUS TV installation appointment, your TELUS TV technician will provide and install the new HD hardware.

4. Can I get TELUS TV HD where I live?

   TELUS TV HD is currently available in limited areas.

5. How many HD enabled TVs can I have?

   We provide you with up to 2 digital boxes (only one of which can be enabled for HD). The other box will support SD channels.

6. How many HD channels can I get with TELUS TV?

   We currently offer over 32 HD channels, and are regularly continuing to add more.

7. How much does HD programming cost?

   You can receive a single HD theme pack for $5/mo., or enjoy all for just $15/mo. To receive HD channels you must first subscribe to the corresponding standard definition (SD) channels.

8. Why do I need to subscribe to both the HD and corresponding SD theme packs?

   Due to regulations and programming partner restrictions, you must subscribe to the standard definition version of the HD theme pack.

9. Can I get HD Video On Demand (HD VOD) or HD Pay Per View (HD PPV)?

   Yes. Select VOD titles are available in HD from the VOD menu list. There are also a selected number of live events available in HD PPV. Check the PPV schedule for upcoming HD events.

10. Can I watch local news or other local programming in HD?

    TELUS TV currently offers local CBC, Global, and CTV channels all in HD.
