Installation overview

TELUS Satellite TV is installed by professionally trained TELUS installers.

You only have to take care of a few things in preparation for the installer's arrival.

What you need to do

  • Make sure you’re at home during your scheduled time slot. It takes about 4 hours to install TELUS Satellite TV.
  • If you are a renter or strata-title owner, ensure you have authorization from your landlord or strata council to install a dish.
  • Decide where in your home you would like to put your TVs.
  • Identify locations for your dish, which is 51 cm in diameter. The TELUS installer determines the final location but will consider your preferences. When identifying locations, keep the following guidelines in mind:
    • Your dish should point southeast with a clear line of sight
    • Your dish should be accessible in case you need to remove debris
    • Your dish should not be near power lines or potential tree growth
    • Your dish location must adhere to local bylaws

What the professionally trained TELUS installer will do

  • Bring all the required equipment: your receiver, dish, cables and a welcome kit with a quick reference guide and channel listings
  • Remove an existing satellite dish if necessary
  • Install and configure your dish, including routing the necessary wires and cables
  • Set up your service and ensure you’re getting the channels you ordered
  • Walk you through how the service works and answer any questions you may have
